Simon always has to attend Harmon’s sporting events so naturally
he began asking when HE could start playing. Since there are not a lot of
options for three-year-olds – at least options that work with our schedule –
Kevin agreed to take him to the parent/child swim class. He was very excited
but had one small concern – he needed to know if there were any frogs there!
Much like his Nana, Simon has a love-hate relationship with
frogs. If they are stuffed or in figurine form, that’s cool. If they are real,
well, that’s not so cool. Anyway, we assured him there were no frogs at the
pool so he went on to have a great time!
We knew he was having a great time simply by the amount of
happy screams that came out of his mouth. Side note: Kevin may have permanent
hearing damage because Simon is just SO loud.
Besides having fun, he also did a great job. Kevin said
that, at times, it seemed like he just wanted to go swim on his own. We’re
guessing he’ll soon be ready for the next class when he IS on his own.
